A week long investigation into alleged sexual misconduct at a Lenasia South school has found the teacher implicated guilty.

The investigation came after news of the sexual relationship the teacher had with a 15-year-old pupil reached the department’s district office.

The Gauteng Education Department says it is preparing charge sheets that will be served to the educator in the next few days.

Neither the school nor the implicated teacher can be named in order to protect the identity of the teenager.

Reports allege that the teenager’s mother knew about the relationship and did nothing about it as the teacher bought the family groceries.

It is understood the alleged misconduct came to light after an image of the pair kissing was circulated by pupils.

The Education Department says it views the matter in a very serious light and is taking urgent action.
