Army Support Base Johannesburg welcomes new Commander

On August 4, hundreds of people converged on Lenasia Military Base to witness the change of Command. Colonel MR Mkhize has been promoted to lead the Army Support Base Johannesburg. She will resume where her predecessor, Colonel VO E Witbooi, left off.  The Johannesburg Army Support Base supports 25 client units in its area of responsibility and judging from some of the achievement and contribution of her predecessor, one can safely say that the base is in good hands.

Addressing the audience, Colonel MR Mkhize said, “As the commanding officer of the support base and with a logistical background, I am optimistic that I will be able to perform my duties to the best of my ability owing to the fact that the Support Base is the environment in which logisticians thrive.”
“I am delighted to be appointed as the Commanding Officer under your command. We, the ASB Johannesburg, promise to give everything that we have, even our last molecule of energy. I feel very privileged, to take command of this magnificent Army Support Base,” she added.
