Four on the run after bread truck robbery

Four men are wanted in connection with a bread truck robberry.

Police are investigating a case of car-jacking and robbery following an incident that occurred in Vlakfontein  Extension 3 on Monday, October 2.
“A 27-year-old Pakistani national was with his friends, delivering bread to one of the supermarkets in the area at around 7.30pm, when they were accosted by four unknown armed men,” said Sergeant Khalipha Mvula of the Lenasia South SAPS.

The men held up the victims at gunpoint before locking them in the back of the delivery van.

“One man stood guard while the other three men proceeded to the front of the truck and forcefully removed the mounted cash drop safe.”

They then drove off until they reached a secluded spot where they abandoned the victims and the truck.
“The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of money. The victims were later freed by a passer-by who heard their cries for help,” added Mvula. Police urge anyone with information to assist the police. The information will be treated in strict confidence.
