LIST: Storm water related emergencies- who to call

Residents are warned that severe thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected today.

The South African Weather Service has issued a warning for today that wind speeds of up to 37km/h are expected the Springs Advertiser reported.

Heavy rain leading to possible flash flooding can be expected in places over Gauteng.

Residents are advised to take extra caution when driving and make sure doors and windows are closed.

In a previous press statement released by the Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), spokesperson William Ntladi says communities affected by these adverse weather conditions, are advised to contact the call centre immediately.

Residents and road users are encouraged to report all road and storm water-related emergencies during flooding directly to the 24 hour JRA Regional Standby Teams.
