Water goes to waste

Once again, thousands of litres of water went to waste when a water pipe burst at a house in Currene Street, Lenasia Extension 13, on Monday, October 9. The burst pipe, which had become a mini fountain, was reported to Joburg Water on the day and the caller was given a reference number.

When the Rising Sun visited the house the following day, on Tuesday, streams of water could be seen running along the street for a long distance. The occupants of the house complained to the reporter that they had to suffer without water since the incident.
“My grandchildren went to school without taking a bath because of this problem,” the resident said.
On Tuesday afternoon, Ward 9 Councillor, Kishore Badal, contacted the Rising Sun and said that the leak was fixed.
