Authorities are on scene in Ennerdale after residents started erecting shacks on empty land in Extension 9 since Monday.
Scores of people from Ennerdale and surrounds had begun to build makeshift shacks on the land, while other residents are adamant an informal settlement in the community would do more harm than good.
According to JMPD spokesperson, Wayne Minaar, the illegal structures were demolished earlier today.
“At about 8am this morning our guys arrived at the scene, all the material confiscated will be stored at the JMPD pound,” Minaar said.
