Recently, APAX hosted their 2nd Annual Matric Dinner at the Killarney Country Club to honour the class of 2018.
Everything was set in motion as our Acting Deputy Principal Ml Akhter welcomed our esteemed guests. A beautiful dua (prayer rendition) was then recited by Qari Aarif. Much anticipation filled the air as our matriculants arrived into the beautifully decorated Crystal Room and took their seats for the start of an unforgettable evening. Mr Gangat and Mr Patelia addressed the audience on behalf of the Board of Management, and thereafter Acting Principal, Mrs R Wadvalla, delivered the Principal’s address.
Our special guest Mr Ebrahim Seedat shared some inspirational advice which resonated with our guests, and allowed us to reminisce about our school days. In his parting words of wisdom, which will undoubtedly leave an indelible mark on the class of 2018, he quoted the famous adage by Rumi: “Its your road, and yours alone, others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you”. Our head boy, Dahyah Saloojee, and head girl, Nafiaa Amod, shared their favourite memories about their years at APAX. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms Moodley and the evening ended with the closing Dua (Prayer).
During the speeches we were all treated to dinner. Each course was served with great enthusiasm by our Grade 10 and 11 learners who volunteered as waitrons. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Video Montage on the Class of 2018.
“Our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors and all those who were involved in making the event as remarkable as it was,” said Mrs Amod, the Senior Administrator.
The APAX Board of Management, Acting Principal and staff wish our Matric class of 2018 all the very best in their preliminary examination which will be commencing soon.
