Azaadville becoming a dump

Recently, many residents from Azaadville have become very concerned about the illegal dumping in the area.  The ward councillor has initiated a number of environmental cleaning campaigns including the recent “Sticks & Stones” project to encourage the community to take pride in its living space.

The community has become careless about the environment and the general cleanliness of its  hometown. Illegal dumping is a selfish action without any consideration of how it may be affecting the rest of the community.  Dumping is illegal. It is a health hazard and only a united community can get this under control.

Residents can assist by educating their gardeners and other employees to make use of the Azaadville Dump Site located at the end of Badshani Drive, next to the Azaadville cemetery.

Illegal dumpers should be caught and fined.  Infringements of by-laws can result in fines of up to R5 000.  No dumping, No litter, No rubble and No garden refuse.

Forward Information on illegal dumpers to 072 286 3402.
